experience

Leaving Leeds, I returned to my hometown to hone my skills more towards the type of work I wanted to be doing. I have improved upon my knowledge of HTML and CSS, learnt some more in-depth JavaScript (having not had the chance to look into this since university) and began my journey into React.

In order to use these skills and continue to improve, I've been creating responsive websites for people who are starting out in their career in order to help others whilst also helping myself!

Some of the skills and technologies I have been using and improving upon during my time as a freelancer include:

  • HTML/CSS/JS
  • UI/UX
  • React

After working at Dynamic as a Placement Creative Developer for 6 months, just half of my placement, I was offered a permanent position with the company as a Creative Developer. My job was a hybrid between development and design and predominantly entailed me using Articulate Storyline and Adobe CC to create interactive eLearning for our clients. This has allowed me to deliver high-quality eLearning services to some very important clients such as the NHS and major UK supermarkets.

Some of the skills and technologies I used most during my time at Dyanmic include:

  • Articulate Storyline 3/360
  • UI/UX
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Elementor

During my time at the University of Leeds, I was introduced to many different facets of the digital industry; graphic design, camera and editing, research and web programming. When undertaking the Dynamic Web Programming module, I learnt the basics of HTML and CSS when making my first ever website. This really appealed to me and led to my wanting to pursue a career in the field.

Some of the skills that university introduced me to include:

  • HTML/CSS
  • Graphic design
  • Responsive web design

about

Hi! My name is Nathan and I enjoy creating stuff for your screens! My interest in web development started back in 2016 when I started studying digital media at the University of Leeds.

Since then, I spent a few years working at an eLearning agency where I learnt a lot about user experience and the way that a user thinks when using the web, as well as gaining skills in design and having the chance to work with Adobe CC and Elementor.

Nowadays, my main focus has been building responsive websites for a range of clients who are just starting out in their industry, giving me the opportunity to help others on their journey, whilst also gaining valuable skills and experience. I also recently decided to delve into the world of React which has been super interesting!

When I'm not working, I'm either at gigs, taking photos at the ice hockey (or just watching!), reading sci-fi and fantasy or learning Spanish.
